The poor little baby, he spend a year in a chicken cage being fed canned milk. Now he is horribly malnourished and seriously under sized. Who knows how well he can recover.

He is yet another victim of the palm oil plantations. His mother would have been killed and he was sold as a pet. Sadly, it was to a pet owner who did not even try to feed him properly.

He is such a sad little fellow. Who knows if he will ever grow up to be a strong adult orangutan. I am just glad to know that there are people out there who are going to try and make him well.
I saw this. It is heartbreaking -poor little mite. And his plight highlights the terrible things that are happening to Orangutans....mothers killed, babies taken for the 'pet trade'....habitat destroyed.

I only hope this little fella will recover and have a chance at some happiness in life. It certainly seems he is being cared for intelligently and tenderly.
I just came across an update on the little man and he is improving.
They have also had lots of donations to help with his care.

I notice that he holds the bottle by himself and holds his head up. That is a big improvement on the first video where he is too weak to move. There is hope that he can fully recover. Someday he may live in the forest like a real orangutan.

He does need to grow some hair though, he would look so much better with hair.

This is what a baby orangutan should look like...one month old...Budi is a year old.

Budi looks more like a one month old than his real age.
Budi is making great progress.

There are pictures here of where he was rescued from.

I am happy to give another update on Budi. He has come a long way from the sick little boy that he was.
Now he even has orangutan friends!

When he was rescued it wasn't a sure thing that he would survive. Now look at him!
I just wish he would grow more hair.
