Pets understand that attention given to books is attention not given to them. They see books for the rivals that they are. I never met a cat that didn't try to stop me from reading.

It seems I am not alone in my experience.

I admit that some books are not as much fun as your pet. If only we could work out a compromise, but cats, especially, do not compromise.
Even my guinea pigs resist the idea of me reading. If I have time to read, why don't I cut a few veggies and get them a snack.Smiley4
Ha ha! They probably can't understand why we sit very still and stare at a block of something in our hands for endless amounts of time! Maybe they think we are quietly stalking it or trying to hunt it down....or trying to hypnotise it into submission....and they will help us.
Smiley4 If I let my guinea pigs help me they would eat the book. They sure enough like to eat my news paper. Smiley4
