Days ago a Tornado went through a trailer park in Oklahoma. Clean-up and rescue operations are still under way. It is wonderful to see that the local Humane Society is there with a special mobile shelter, supplies and volunteers. Some animals can be reunited with their people right away. Others will be held until their owners can take them.

I think it is beautiful that they are there to rescue the pets. The animals would be so confused. They have no idea why their world was turned upside down and ripped apart. Having people there right away to care for them and keep them safe can make all the difference.
Sadly some animals will never be found, but for those that can be helped. help is there.
It's great that someone is helping these animals, and trying hard to get people re-united with them.
There's a Facebook page apparently too, where those who are looking for lost pets, and those who have found animals, can get in touch.
The mobile homes look mostly devastated by the tornado. The surviving animals must be terribly shocked. I'm glad they are being cared for.
For some reason mobile homes seem to draw tornados to them. Maybe it just seems that way, but however it happens the mobile homes are always severely damaged. The pets caught in that must be severely shocked as you said. I am glad they are using Facebook to find the owners. It seems Facebook is becoming a tool for helping lost animals. I am increasingly finding reports of pets reunited with family because of Facebook posts.

It is great to see how many volunteers turned out to look for lost pets. I think I saw a terrarium in the rubble. I hope if there is a lost reptile that someone looks for it. Reptiles need special care and special food and would not do too well out on their own.
I think they will look out for all sorts of animals. There are bound to be some sad discoveries though. And my heart goes out to the pet owners whose animals didn't survive. I hope they work through the rubble very well, and don't get too put off by "Health and Safety" restrictions....
Many animals can survive buried without food for days on end, but not long without water. I hope they find the occupants of the Terrarium.

Sniffer dogs might be useful for locating any buried animals?
I never thought about sniffer dogs. They are the best. They seem to be able to find anyone.
I do hope they search the rubble carefully. People should be able to look for personal items as well. Everything is wreck, the tornado is gone, what is the rush. There is time to make sure that all survivors are found.
(In Edmonton after the Tornado, people were only given a brief time to search the site before it was bulldozed. I have no idea why.)

It would be sad to lose everything and then find that you had lost your pet as well. The reunions must be precious because they only have each other and must begin life anew.
