One man in a small town in Ontario has taken responsibility for the local turtles. Of course they were nesting on his lawn so he did have some connection to them. By protecting the eggs and helping the babies make it to the lake Patrick Grace has increased the local turtle population. In particular there are now young turtles who will live to take the place of the old ones when they die.

What he is doing is so important. Every nest site needs a turtle man. It is so hard for them to survive they world we have created around them.
