Three Baby Beardies!

I got a baby beardie several weeks ago.

This is Trixie.
She is very pretty and quite orange.
After a few days she became a real princess and was refusing to eat.
So I took her back to the reptile centre and we put her in with two, other babies and that got her eating. Nothing like competition to make you hungry. Smiley4
I brought her home and she stopped eating again. So I did the only thing I could do. I brought home another baby. But there were two together and I couldn't leave one behind so I brought them both home.

The orange one is Trixie. The tiny one at the back is Little Bit. The yellow one at the front is not quite named yet.

They are each very different in colour and markings.

The dark mark on Trixie's head is felt pen. I wanted to make sure I got her back after her stay with the other two.

Little Bit might be tiny, but her tail goes on forever. She has smooth spineless skin.

This little lady is shedding so we can't see her full colours right now. I will name her soon.

I haven't had a baby beardie since 2008 when I adopted three. They are more fun in groups. Cole , Princess and Fox died a while ago and I miss having beardies.

I do still have Henry the paralyzed beardie.

I think he looks very good considering his problems. He has certainly fattened up and seems happy.

I love having bearded dragons.
It's nice they have company, they'll love their new home. I hope that Henry likes them.
They do seem to be having fun together. I think bearded dragons like company. Females get along of course and we believe they are all female.

Henry is much bigger so he would possibly eat them at this stage.  I have things set up so they can't see him because they would be afraid.   If they really are all girls, in a year of so when they are bigger maybe they could be with Henry. It might not be fair to Henry. He can't climb like they can and he might get hurt doing what they can do. Or else I would set things up for Henry, but then the girls wouldn't have the chance to climb and be active.  It is always tough with a handicapped pet. I wouldn't want henry to become aware of how damaged he is. He is happy now and that is important.

Little bit is a good eater. I am sure she will catch up in size.
Those are really cool pets. I've never had any but have seen a huge one in the pet shop window. It was bigger than a small child!! They sure are gorgeous! That's so nice you gave them all a home. Smile
They are all eating very well. I think they like the company. Trixie was fine by herself, but she wasn't as good as she is now. Little Bit and the other one were already together so they like being together.

The un-named one is just shedding. She may be the prettiest one in the end. She is kind of bold and lively  and a good hunter of crickets. I need a good name for her. I am sure I will figure it out soon.  As soon as she sheds, I will post her picture. They look so much brighter after a shed.

Bearded dragons are an interesting pet. They like people and are pretty attached to their humans. These guys are babies so I still need to bond with them. It will happen over time. They already watch for me in the morning.

They are in a ten gallon tank, but I think that will be very temporary. There are three of them so they will need a 20 gallon sooner than one beardie would.
I have never had a Bearded Dragon as a pet. But a few months ago had a strange short dream, where I woke up and felt a lump against my face on the pillow. I sat up and looked, and there was a Bearded Dragon on my pillow who had been cuddling up to my face!
Haha! When I woke up of course there was no-one there. I wonder if it was a 'ghost Dragon' and why it should visit ME?

Oddly -even though the dream was a bit silly....I did feel intuitively that they do make strong bonds with their humans, and that is likely to have been a thing a Beardie would do.
And at the time I didn't know that.

I am looking forward to the picture of the unnamed girlie after she sheds. One day you will find the perfect name.
She has shed,  she is beautiful and I will name her soon.  I will get a picture tomorrow, hopefully.

They encourage each other to eat. The little one is the most spunky and the best eater. I guess she wants to catch up in size.

They are still very young, but their personalities will start to show soon. That is when it will be fun. Right now they are babies and I need to fuss over them and feed them often.

Interesting dream. A ghost dragon you say. It wasn't my ghost dragon was it? I haven't felt her around in a while. She used to snuggle in bed with me.

We were  very close and she did like to snuggle and she would touch my face.
If she comes back, you could send her home to me. I miss her.
They are a beautiful bunch!! and so lucky to be living with you, Catherine.
I'm sure Jonathan is still around. Our loved ones are never far away.
I must post about my experiences with that sort of stuff, especially around my Dad passing, if anybody would be interested to hear. I know such things are not to everybody's liking.
Baby beardies are fun and raising them is quite an experience. They will need to be treated as babies for  most of the year.

I will get new pictures. They are each a different colour of beardie.

Cibach, we have all had experiences we cant explain. I know I used to wake up and it really felt like Jonathan was sleeping on the bed. That lasted a long time, it wasn't every night, but many nights.

I would be interested in hearing your experiences.

I still need a name for one of the beardies. I have Trixie(from the Trixie Beldon series) and Little Bit(it is the nickname of a friend called Elizabeth) and the un-named girl who is almost green and pink toned and very pretty. She needs just the right name. What about Ivy or Fern?
