A Vancouver Bee expert and author has written a book encouraging us to plant gardens for bees to help them survive. She uses the idea of the victory gardens that were planted during the world wars.
Our gardens could be places that help bees survive if we choose our plants carefully.

I find I am liking the pollinator friendly plants more than the showy cultivars. They are smaller and more subtle in their colours, but they have a natural beauty.
It is also special when I see my garden full of bees.
