Peanut was adopted from a shelter a year ago. On a cold day she insisted her owner take her outside. She then let the owner to a field where they found a small child, alone, unclothed and freezing. This is a child peanut didn't know. Somehow she knew the child was there.

I think we may have posted about Peanut last year. She was an abused dog who was rescued, healed and adopted.

I seems that Peanut wants to give back what she has received. She certainly saved the little girl.

Dogs are amazing. It would have been enough if Peanut had overcome her past and lived as a happy dog. It would have been great if she had saved/helped her adoptive family in some way.  She went to the aid of a stranger. She is a true hero.

This is an amazing story. That child owes her whole life to that dog. What an excellent doggie!
She may have heard sounds from the child even at a distance and from the house. Dogs' hearing is acute.

You are right, she probably heard the child. However the child was a stranger and Peanut still wanted to respond.
She somehow knew the child was in serious trouble.
She is a hero dog and she is a very intelligent, compassionate dog.
