Heart Early this month he suddenly lost the use of one leg and I had him to the vet.  He was on medications and lost the use of his other leg a week later.  I was then going to take him to get Laser Therapy treatment if I could find a Vet experienced in it.  That morning I planned on calling about the therapy.  When I got up I found my Danny Boy had died.   Smiley19 That was Tuesday this week. Danny was only 7 years and 9 mos. old. The Vet didn't find a diagnosis. She only tried to cover the basis with the medications.  I have been sad beyond words.  Allison is only about 8 or 9 mos. old and alone now.  I am paying her more attention.  I cannot afford to get another bird right now and also pay Vet bills.  Vet bills have made me broke.  I am hoping Allison will take comfort in my company.  I put her on the coffee table while I am sitting on the couch.  She is sad and lost.

Oh Ruth! I am so sorry about how you must feel since Danny Boy left this world. And Alison must miss him very much.

He will be alright. All creatures go through to the next life beyond this one. But that doesn't stop you both missing him in life, and I know how hard that is.

The song is beautiful. When I was seven we had a good cat called Danny and he disappeared never to be seen again. My Mama and I used to sing that song to try to bring him home!

Dear Danny.  Heart Heart You are loved so much by Ruth and Alison. Fly free and go well. But come back for a visit now and then...
Ruth,  I am so sorry. I know how special Danny is to you. You have been close all these years. For a little tiny bird he is going to leave a big empty space in your heart. I hope you and Allison can take comfort in each other as you miss Danny.

It is hard when you don't know why he died. Perhaps he had a stroke of some kind.  I know that your vet did what she could, but it is so hard with small animals like birds. They are very delicate. Danny had good happy years with you and he was only sick a short time before he died. Now he flies free with his other bird friends that have gone before him. His memory will live on forever with you and Allison.

I know how vets bills are and it does leave you with little extra for another bird. Can you find a bird at a shelter or even better on Kijiji. Someone may need to rehome a bird and you could help them out by taking it.

Big hugs to you and Allison and Suzy too.
So sorry for your loss our little pets become one of the family.
Danny was part of our Animal Lovers family too. We all feel sad at his passing and we feel the sadness of Ruth and Allison who were close to him.
Ruth, I very sorry to read about Danny. My heartfelt condolences to you. Danny will be watching over you, even if you do not notice. He has only gone into another dimension outside our physical time and space, but never that far away.

I'm sure that Allison will miss him as much as you do, so you need to comfort each other as much as you can right now.
Thank you all so much for your condolences. Danny had a very good life and was a very happy little guy. He loved his home and to fly around; he would zip around the room in a second, he was so fast. He would sit on my head when I typed and give me kisses when I put my nose out to him. Allison was pretty sad. She looked so alone.
Danny did have a good life with you. No bird could have been happier. I am sure your presence is a comfort to Allison as her presence must be to you. I hope this brings you closer and you are able to share happy times together. For now you can remember Danny together and know that you both loved him.

Thank you Catherine.  They all have their personalities, don't they?  He was so very happy here and showed Allison "the ropes" when she got here.  I will never forget him. Heart
We all have those special pets that we will never forget. Losing them is hard, but it is worth the loss to have known them in the first place. It is just so hard at first to be without them. Right now you are aware of the absence of Danny. In time life with fill up with his memories and you will enjoy the remembering. You never stop wishing that he is still with you, but in some ways he will always be there in your heart.
