It was with distress that we learned that the Brazilian government had given permission to mine  in the Amazon.
There has been outrage and anger and protest because of this.

In response, Brazilian Government has withdrawn the permission to mine the Amazon.

We can breath a sigh of relief because the forest has been spared. 
We can rejoice and be happy to know that protests bring results. People were outraged over the thought of mining the Amazon and now it has been stopped.

Thank goodness this has been stopped.

Reason has prevailed and the planet is better for it. Much of our oxygen comes from the forests of the Amazon. Messing with them could cost us more than we can imagine.

The animals and the people who live there have reason to be grateful too. They would not have survived the mining of the area.
