While uploading these pictures on my PC realised the quality of the picture isnt too great.

Rocky who is turning 11 this year and not doing bad for an old man.

The boys are working on there social skills and not just going up to other dogs and snapping them. Hence the muzzles.

How on earth did I miss these pictures?
Rocky looks pretty good for an old man.
Your Jack Russels look good. Are they still snappy or did they outgrow that.
So is that the boat and the canal you live on? That must be such a wonderful experience, living on a boat. It is something the rest of us would only dream of doing.
How are you handling the winter? Has it been very cold for you?
Sorry for late response - no internet connection on the boat so have to grab it when I get it.

The Jacks are still a little snappy but they are doing great.

Yes that is my boat moored in central London. Its not been bad at all this winter. we've not had much lower then 7 degress so can't compain. My log burner keeps me warm Smile
The downside of a boat, no internet, but what a view! I didn't realize that you were in down town London. That must be such an interesting experience. I am glad you are keeping warm. Sometimes a log burner is more reliable than all the technology we have. During our ice storm thousands of people lost power, many were in the cold and dark for a week. A log burner sounds much more dependable and probably easier to fix. With all the broken trees, there would be no shortage of logs.Smiley4

I am glad the two Jacks are good. I guess they are a bit jumpy a breed. They are a high energy type of dog and being snappish is probably understandable. I have forgotten how old they are. Five?
Am I close?
What lovely pics Reduckto. I think boat living sounds very appealing.
I have to agree with you. Wood heat is my favorite way to heat. It is a lot of work if you cut your own wood. You have to keep it dry and feeding the stove every couple of hours is a job in itself.
Even though it is more work I will take it any day over our furnace. When the power goes out we still have heat and ours has a large flat top, approximately the same size as a cookstove top, so we can cook on it as well.
With the number of power failures we have had, wood burning sounds like a good idea. If we lost power I would get cold no matter what plans I have made. I could start a fire outside. It would at least be better than freezing inside. And as you say, you can cook when you have wood heat.

I hear on the radio that you are getting clobbered with snow storms right now. We are sitting here waiting for it all to arrive....not eagerly awaiting, but waiting. You know it is out there and you know it is coming. Sigh.Undecided
Oh Reduckto -I've only just seen your pics!
Yes JRTs can be a bit snappy sometimes -I know. I used to have one.
When approaching people with other dogs I always had to shout out "Is it a 'dog' or a 'b****'?" I was notorious for that phrase! My dog got on ok with females but not his own sex unfortunately!

Your boat is wonderful, and I like the log storage area on top.
We have had mainly wet weather here (well, where I live anyway) and not so cold. But damp. A stove is always welcome. It's lovely to be able to cook dinner on the stove, then sit by it in the evening with the stove-door open, as you warm your toes and read a book
Warming your toes by the stove sounds so peaceful. There is something about a fire that is comforting and homey and just feels right. When it is damp a fire does the trick in a way a furnace never can.

Life on a boat sounds so wonderful.Smile

Ha, ha! I see the auto-censor has been putting stars in your posts, Tobi! Smiley17

Reduckto, your photo brings back memories of my childhood. I lived on a houseboat on the Thames, in Surrey (Chertsey, actually). I have many recollections of swans and ducks swimming right by our window, hoping for some "tips"! After quite a few idyllic years, our boat eventually sank in violent flooding one year (about 1964 or 65, from memory). We were homeless for about six months, living in a tent, then people's attics and front rooms.

Forgive my mentioning that. It won't happen to you. I wish you many happy years on your boat!
LPC, you have had an interesting life. Living on a boat sounds like a very different, very peaceful life. Too bad the boat sank. I must have been a bad flood.
I have lived in a tent for a summer or two and enjoyed it. I must have been a little rougher to be actually living in a tent, but I bet you still have some fond memories of it.

Tom, I sincerely hope that your boat stays afloat in all the flooding I keep hearing about. Are you in a flood area?
