In remembrance of a dear friend and animal lover, our own well-loved Knight of Albion.

It is the 27th November today, and it was one year ago on the 25th that he made his last post online, anywhere. He is not forgotten and never will be. Bless him, with gratitude for all he did. Heart
I was thinking of our dear noble knight the other day. Some part of me must have remembered that it had been a year.
We were privileged to have known him and had him as part of our family. His gentle words held so much wisdom. He is much missed and he may be gone from us, but we have not forgotten him.
Ah, how wonderful that this great protector of animals (amongst other noble causes) has been remembered here, too! Thank you, Tobi, for starting this thread.

Noble Knight, thank you for all you did for animals. My humble blessings to you on your onward journey (not that you need them).....
I hope where ever he is our dear friend remembers us and watches over us. He is like my grandmother who may be gone, but whose words still guide me. When I need them I remember them.

When we need our friend's guidance we can remember his words and they will guide us. Just remembering our friend's gracious manners reminds me that we always want ALWF to be a kind and accepting place where we are always polite to each other.

Dear Noble Knight we were privileged to have known you. Heart
I thought I would refresh my memory about our Noble Knight's signature, and there is a link to his website there also. The website is still up and running, and there are many wise and inspiring quotations there.

Heart It is our deeds, the accumulated acts of goodness and kindness that define us and ultimately are the true measure of our worth. Service is the coin of the spirit. Heart

Thank-you for posting the link to his site. I am glad it is still being maintained. There are so many good thoughts and ideas all brought together in one place.. I hope someone will keep it running for many years. It really is as if our friend is still with us. The good he did in his life can continue. Who knows how many people he has reached with his words even after leaving us.

This is an example of one of the ways the internet is an instrument for good.  Even though someone is gone, their life's work can continue.
Wonderful sentiments, Catherine and Tobi. Yes, the Noble Knight may not be here to look after his blog, but his wonderful collection of articles will remain online for quite a long while yet. If a Google blog account (called blogger these days) isn't updated, I believe that it remains online for several years before being deleted.

So Noble Knight's invaluable collection will live on for a long while yet!
It is too bad that the account will eventually be deleted. Is there no way to get around that problem?
Without the password no one can up date and keep the account current. I don't know how these things work, but surely as long as people visit a site it would make sense to keep it going.
Tobi might know more about this than I do. Google blogs are free and they remain that way indefinitely, provided they are updated regularly. I had one a long time ago, but I didn't bother to update it for years, so it was deleted when I did nothing (after a warning email, to be fair to Google). One would need the password to update Knight's blog, which is of course unknown. In any case, it would not be ethical to update someone's blog without their knowledge.

I think his blog will remain for several years, however. I haven't looked at the rules for a long time.
Okay...I did a google "blogger" blog for Misty and started it in May 2012 weeks before she passed. That's five and a half years ago.
About 2013 -ish (?) I cannot remember exactly what date but probably early 2013, I went there to reply to a comment I think....and something went wrong with my password. So I applied to re-set it. That didn't work.
Google sent me the text code to unlock it. It unlocked just once, then from then on it wasn't possible to enter any password that worked. Google said "suspicious activity had been noticed on my account". Yes, I replied -that was me, trying all sorts of ways to get in!
Google then wasn't much help when I could no longer get into my original account (using my own name.) So I had no choice but to dump it.
...And open another one using Misty's name! And a different email address.

Okay that's a long story, though a bit of a warning to others never to forget their Google password!

That means I haven't been able to get into that account for approx. 5 years, yet the site is still up and running. It probably will go on a lot longer yet.
