Of the 100 Reindeer killed by trains in Norway, 65 were killed by the same train in one day. It was a bloodbath all along the tracks. Many of these animals were left suffering in the snow, lingering on dying slowly in pain.
This has been going on for years so many more than 100 reindeer have lost their lives. This time of the year they need to move to winter pastures.  It is a very vulnerable time for them. Many are killed.

This is an unacceptable situation. It isn't just reindeer that are being killed although they have suffered the most. When this many animals die then the trains are not be run safely. If fences and animal crossing over passes are needed then they must be built.
Governments can find money for and wasteful project they want to fund. They can certainly find money for this.

I hope the shock and outrage over such massive loss of life will be enough to make the government and the railroad do something.
This is terrible. I had no idea that was happening along railroads in Norway. I always respected the Norwegian people for their well organised way of life, but this is too much! Something does need to be done. It's a serious animal welfare problem, and waste of life.
Since the migration is not continuous all year long surely they could take precautions at certain times of the year.
They could even stop the trains for a few days if that would help.

They can't let this go on. I hope the public gets involved. They could refuse to ride the trains or ship goods  at times when reindeer are at risk. They need to install fences and crossing zones. Bridges or tunnels would allow reindeer to safely cross.
It might seem expensive, but the cost of creating such carnage is much higher in other ways that money.

You sum it up so well that you have respected the Norwegian people and now you feel outraged by them. As a country they stand to suffer a serious loss of respect and reputation. Those things are hard to regain once lost. We shall be watching to see what they do and judge them accordingly.
