First, Torty is an 11 kg African Spurred Tortoise. She escaped from her back yard and was found kilometers away a week latter.
Since she wasn't micro chipped the shelter used social media to let her people know where she is. They were able to claim her and she is now happily at home.

Can you imagine being the one to find the tortoise wandering. There are no reptiles in Edmonton and certainly no native species of tortoise. Once again sharing on Facebook helps out a missing pet.
