A few days ago there was a major oil spill off of Newfoundland. An off shore drilling platform was attempting to restart after a storm even though the waves were still very high. At least 250,000 liters of oil have now  been spilled into the ocean just east of Newfoundland.

The oil is expected to cause many sea bird deaths and it is impossible to clean up because the oil has dispersed into the ocean. The dispersed oil droplets are still enough to cause many animal deaths.

Something needs to be done to regulate this industry better.

We can't undo this spill and the damage it is causing, but something needs to be done to prevent further spills and bring the companies involved to accept responsibility and actually do something.
In the mean time we can cry for all the many animals that will die because of this oil. Smiley19
