Charlie, an 11 year old golden retriever has lost both his eyes to glaucoma. The family brought home a puppy called Maverick. He was a bit of a brat at first, but the dogs bonded and Maverick is Charlie's constant companion.

Maverick seems to understand that Charlie can't see and helps him to cope. It is am amazing thing. Maverick hasn't been trained for the job. He just seems to know what he needs to do to help Charlie. It is beautiful. Maverick has given Charlie quality of life and comfort in his blindness. The family can do a lot for Charlie, but having another dog to help means Charlie can act like a dog again.
