This is amazing! (not strictly "pictures" but there are plenty of pictures in the article)
A stray dog called Meera, climbed a 24,000ft Himalayan mountain alongside a climbing team.
They said they had "never seen anything like it before" !

What an incredible story. And you are right, it had plenty of pictures. Mera is an amazing dog. After all, mountain climbing is not usually something dogs do. She went with them all the way up and all the way down.

I think after all that effort she earned a home of her own with one of the team members.
After climbing with her there is no way they could leave her behind as a stray. She had become part of the team.

Have you noticed lately that there seem to be a number of stories of dogs joining races and other human endeavors. They go the whole way and end up being adopted.
Yes I have noticed a number of stories of dogs joining expeditions and being adopted by a member of the team.

It also shows what tough athletes dogs can be -even little ones like Gobi. (remember Gobi a tiny terrier who joined a desert expedition? There was a book written about him, "Saving Gobi".)

But Mera looks like possibly a Tibetan Mastiff cross. If so, she is built for the mountains!

It makes sense that she is a mountain dog. She would have to be used to the altitude to survive that high up.

I remember Gobi. He was a determined little dog. The story made a good book. It would be a great movie too if they ever decide to make one.

Here is another story. A dog ran a desert marathon in Morocco.

It doesn't say what happened to the dog, but it did win a medal.
