I’m just going to post any updates I have on my reptile room here. It’s always changing or growing. I have a few more than the last time I posted here. I’m going to make a video once I have everyone in their more permanent enclosures.  I just cleaned everyone yesterday and today.

A few pictures

I’m up to 2 leopard geckos Jack (m 7yrs) and Jaime (m 2yrs).  The 4 OG Ball Pythons Jean-Luc (m 13yrs), Bellatrix (f 3yrs), Iroh (m 5yrs), and Zuko (m 4yrs). The Columbian rainbow boas Breinne (f 3yrs) and Renly (m 3yrs). One Columbian Redtail Boa Melisandre (f 3yrs). Popeye my male German Giant Bearded Dragon (4yrs).  I posted about getting 2 more ball pythons 2 Female Mojave morphs a 3yr old we named Janeway and a 6 month old we named Shireen.  We had a couple house geckos that didn’t make it.

Last month I got the call that an iguana and a bearded dragon that had been abandoned after their owner went to jail. They had been left for 3 weeks so I had to hurry.  I’ve been working to get them eating so they are still in the emergency tanks. The house they came from was infested with bugs so nothing came with them. I had to scramble to clean what I had.
Turns out the iguana was actually an adult female water dragon and she faired better. The Chinese water dragon is really cool and has been on my I want list. The baby bearded dragon didn’t fair as well and I’ve had to syringe feed oxbow carnivore critical care mixed with clear pedilyte.  It’s the same as what Popeye so I’m already making it. The baby bearded dragon is doing better but I’m keeping a close eye.  The water dragon is a spit fire. I just ordered a bigger net enclosure.  They don’t do well in glass because they can’t see it and she’s shone me why.  She’s in a 20 gallon glass tank now. The net enclosure will be equivalent to 100gallons.
You have been busy. It is always good to see updates from your reptile room.

I am so glad Popeye is still doing okay. You are doing a terrific job with him. I am sure you will give the baby beardie his best chance at survival. I do hope he makes it. If he is young he may be able to fully recover.

I guess when they are young baby iguanas and young water dragons are similar. But not that similar! How do people mix them up.
A water dragon is on my wish list too, but my big "water dragon" tank has a Columbian Black and White Tegu in it right now.
Your water dragon looks pretty good. I am sure you will get him eating again.
An enclosure that is 100 gal would be great for a water dragon. They can get pretty big. You could use the twenty gal. as his pond.
I really want to do an water dragon set up. I do have another big tank so if a dragon comes my way I will probably do it.

You are going to need to do some naming again. He is a beautiful water dragon so you need a classy name  or you could call him Kermit. What is he like.

Very nice CRB. They are such a pretty snakes and you have a beauty. Your ball python enclosures are good. They look comfortable for the snake and easy to clean.

Jack is still going strong. How does he like the new female?   I have no geckoes right now. I need to do something about that.
I still have golden skinks though.  Those little house geckoes are fragile. They also have shorter lives. It is hard to keep them going.

You are like me. If we get a call about a reptile we go get it. I just can't lift a Colombian red tail when they get bigger. I don't know if I would take in an Iguana.  I could pass it on to the reptile centre. I would take a water dragon any day.

Very nice reptile collection.  Heart
Both of my Leo’s are boys. So no breeding for now. Jaime is actually calming down too. Can’t say he loves being held but I was able to pick him up without him screaming or biting me yesterday so that’s progress! They had their first taste of Dubai roaches yesterday and they love them.

I was not excited about having to rehome an iguana but when I found out it was a water dragon I was so excited. The water dragon is a female. I have Saphira picked out for her if my husband lets me keep her. And I’m hoping the Bearded dragon is a boy and my husband can name him Smaug.
I’ll get some better pictures today of everyone. I was more focused on cleaning than taking pictures. Renly is just beautiful. His sides are high white so he really sticks out between the two crb. I’m setting up the whole room to my google home mini as well so I’m excited about getting everyone on timed lights because of that.
I did collages of all the reptiles Smile

The water dragon looks pretty good.  Definitely he is easier to handle than an iguana. You are definitely going to want to keep him. The little baby beardie is thin, but he looks okay otherwise. I hope they both make it. I hate the fact that people abandon reptiles like that.

Your Colombian red tail is nice looking. She is going to love the new enclosure.
I love your Colombian Rainbows. They are such pretty snakes.  Babies from them will be so cute. New born boas are amazing.

Your ball python collection is getting interesting. Surely this year one of us will have ball python eggs.
Your snakes look old enough. My snakes look old enough. Have you decided who to pair with who?

You have done well by Popeye. He couldn't have survived without your care.

Having your lights set up to turn on an off automatically saves a lot of time. However you set it up doesn't matter as much as the fact that it is automatic. I have simple timers, but I want a power bar timer. It would cut down on extension cords and make things simpler. Still the basic timers I have now work and that is what matters.

If you can set it up for a google home mini to sort out your lighting and turn it on and off, it will be a great time saver and it gives the reptiles a consistent day length.

You have come a long way from the days when you rescued one ball python.
Unfortunately the baby bearded dragon took a turn for the worst and passed. I was planning on calling the vet first thing Monday morning but he passed away Saturday night.
I’ll still have to take the water dragon to the vet. I think her back left leg is broken. I was finally able to hold her today and noticed as she climbed up my arm that she drags that leg.

Breeding I’ll at least breed the boas. The ball pythons I’ll breed Zuko to Janeway and maybe to Bellatrix. But I would rather wait until I have a better suited male for Bellatrix. Jean-luc is older so he’s not up for breeding and Iroh is a normal so I likely won’t breed him either.
I am  sorry about the baby beardie. They are so fragile when they are young. He was just neglected a little too long.
You did your best and the little guy died with people who were caring for him. It is too bad he didn't make it.

The poor water dragon. How would he break his leg. It should be able to heal. I wonder if he is short on calcium.
If he never regains use of his leg you will still love him and you will do a set up that lets him get around safely.

I can't wait to hear about boa babies. I think they have long pregnancies so we may have to wait awhile.
You will get nice offspring from your pythons. I can see waiting for the right male for Bellatrix. You could even borrow a male. I have loaned my gopher snake for breeding purposes to someone who had 2 females. Of course I trusted the person and Jasper did come back to me.
You are right, at 13 years it is better not to breed Jean-Luc.

It probably doesn't mean anything, but my ball python female refused food. She could be pregnant. I am really watching her for signs that she wants to lay eggs. I am not getting my hopes up, but I am ready to go if she does want to lay eggs.

I’ve been using this as a guide. This is why I wanted to get the room set up basically run on it’s own. I’m testing and learning how to use it now before crunch time.

I got the big 100gallon net enclosure today for the water dragon today but it’s missing the connectors. I have to send it back so they can send me another one. So that’s at least another week in her tiny 20 gallon glass tank. Grr I was so hoping to have her set up with a pond to boot. I got a bunch of decorations and I guess this give me time to find a plant.
She finally let me hold her yesterday too! I felt so honored that she’s starting to trust me. I’m thinking of naming her Saphira. It’s the dragon in the book/movie Eragon. I love those books.
That is a good article about the rainbow boas. I will be reading that again and again. My BRB really is looking more and more like a female. She is eating well and gaining size. At 3 years old she could breed. She definitely couldn't get through a cardboard tube.
I am thinking of moving her to a slightly bigger tank. It is in a different location and it would be easier to give her a cool down period.

We are both going to have an interesting winter. The babies are so cute.  I have seen new born Dumeral's Boas and new born Amazon Tree Boas. Little boas are so sweet. Lets hope for little ones in the new year some time.

I am glad the water dragon is settling in. I like the name Saphira. It is pretty and water dragons are very beautiful.
I can't wait to see your water dragon set up.
This is going to be a fun time for you. A new water dragon and possible CRB babies. It is always interesting when you have reptiles.

I have my little striped corn snakes to nurture. They are looking so good. I will get new pictures soon.
I love that site. I've found a few that say they same things so I just keep going back to reread it so I know what I'm doing.

The saga continues with the water dragon enclosure. I ordered one on ebay and the connectors were missing. So waiting on them to respond I ordered one on Amazon same company but I wanted to test something. Sure enough the Amazon one came in today and surprise, surprise the end of the box is torn up and it's missing the connectors. So I'm sending that one back through Amazon and through ebay they are sending me the connectors. I had no idea it was going to be this involved. It was suppose to be a quick fix lol.
