The recent bushfires in Australia have killed hundreds of Koalas. The situation is desperate. Efforts are underway to save as many as possible. The Port Macquarie Koala Hospital started a fund raiser hoping to raise $25,000 so they could provide koala drinking stations for the survivors. They have received over $1,000,000. The response is overwhelming. They have enough to provide water in a number of places and to refill the stations regularly. The rest of the money can be used for the injured survivors and to set up a koala breeding programme.

The response is amazing. This is a total disaster for the koalas, but at least they can create some good because of it.

This is an amazing rescue.

Sometimes ordinary people do great things when they are needed. For one koala that meant a chance at survival.
