Georgie City Farm has had to close. There was some concern for the many animals that called the farm home. It was feared that they would be slaughtered. However former staff and volunteers have started a petition and a crowd funding and have generated enough interest and funding to help rehome the many animals.

This is good news that the animals can be saved. It does expose a problem. Sanctuaries, rescues and farms like this are often financially vulnerable. If something goes wrong the animals can be at risk. Maybe this situation can be lesson for other places that care for animals. Some plan needs to be in place to protect the animals if the place has to close.
It doesn't matter why the place has to close. It is important that the animals be protected.
