Ontario has just passed new stronger animal welfare legislation. This makes it the strongest legislation in Canada. There will be new larger fines, especially for repeat offenders. Corporations could be fined as much as 1 million dollars. There will be provincial inspectors to monitor animal situations.

This is very good news. It could mean a new era of better animal treatment. Of course the law needs to be enforced and the inspectors need to be trained and on the job. I think this could happen and I am waiting to see the results be I am unconditionally happy about this.
