The government is changing the rules in the model tenancy agreement so that renters will be allowed to have pets. This is being done as a recognition that pets do bring happiness and comfort to people's lives. It is also an acknowledgement that young families are renting their homes because they can't afford to buy them. They should be able to have full lives, with pets, even if they cannot afford their own home.

I am glad to hear that London is going to let people who rent have pets. Now we just need a lot of other cities to follow their example.
Life is hard enough. Being deprived of pets or being forced to give up a pet is unbearable.
