Guinea pigs are a herd animal and a group of them will have a leader. They will follow the lead of that guinea pig. When a human becomes the herd leader it can be very funny. They will follow their person anywhere.

It is one of the cute things about guinea pigs.
When I had a larger herd I just had to speak to the herd leader and all the other piggies listened.
If they needed something he would tell me. I never had my piggies follow me around the room, but they have always watched my every move when I am near the frig.
