Any day now Mstai, a masai giraffe, will be giving birth to her first baby. She has been pregnant since January 18, 2019. Giraffes have a very long pregnancy. 
There is every indication that the birth will be soon.

This baby will be a welcome addition. Masai Giraffes are an endangered species so every birth is a cause for celebration.
As soon as I hear something about the birth I will post it. Hopefully there will be pictures.

The baby has arrived and is so cute. Right now the baby is being called BabyLongLegs, but that will change. As we get to know the little one better we will find a better name.

This is a special baby. Not only is this an endangered species. This is also a third generation birth at Toronto Zoo. Grandma Twiga and mother Mstari were both born in Toronto. 
Now I just need the zoo to reopen so I can go see the baby.
