Mother bears are pretty amazing. I just wonder how the cub ended up on the highway in the first place.

There are a number of videos on the same site that are worth watching.
Brilliant! Mama bear did a great job. That's what Mamas are for, I guess....Confused

I was also wondering how he got on to the highway in the first place. Maybe he got up on to the wall, and then fell down on the wrong side.
He may have been trying to cross the road. There are a lot of problems with wildlife and roads. That is why some places are building underpasses for animals so they can safely cross the boundaries that we created in their territories.

Did you look at any of the other videos?
Yes I did watch the other videos. There are some good ones. Bless that policeman in Wisconsin who stopped the traffic for a mother duck and ducklings! Good man!

I did get a bit fed up of the 'Cloud' advert....with no option to skip it....

I felt a kind of sad empathy for the little Elephant who was put into that empty sterile room all on her own. I know she will be looked after (am sure) and won't hopefully, be on her own all the time, but it seemed so sad in a way.

It is really nice that Hero the frost-damaged calf has been given prosthetic hooves! It was so nice to see that thoughtfulness given to a calf.

Interesting. I got a completely different ad. The ads must be generated locally.

The elephant one was sad, but the others were good. Every year some highway in Toronto is shut down by ducks or geese. One year it was a skunk that had to be rescued. The amazing thing is that everybody stops and the animals are rescued.

I think this is a follow up story to the elephant video.

Calgary Zoo suffered such severe damage in the flood last year that they have had to send some animals to other zoos. Some buildings were beyond repair. It was better to tear them down and start again.

I will see if I can track down anything on the elephants meeting. I bet they do recognize each other.
One more article.

I can't wait to see the two herds together.
That mother bear knew exactly what she was doing, didn't she?
We cause so many issues for the wild life but they seem to cope, mostly.
Animals have learned to cope with the issues we create. They understand that highways are dangerous and try to protect their babies from them. Of course every spring a goose or duck leads her babies across the busies highway at rush hour. There is something powerful about motherhood. All the cars stop and they make it safely.
