Over 5000 sea turtles were rescued and cared for in Texas during the cold spell. The efforts of the many rescuers have paid off and turtles are now being returned to the ocean.

This could have ended as an ecological disaster. Instead, through the efforts of many, it has become one of the greatest rescues ever. Seeing all those turtles returning to the water and swimming away is a beautiful sight. I shed some tears. It is unbelievable how many turtles were rescued.
It must have been fun to put the turtles on the slide and watch them hit the water and swim off.
