A young Minke Whale was found trapped in the Thames river a long way from the ocean. Efforts were made to free the whale and transport it to the ocean. They almost succeeded. Sadly the whale's health started to decline and it was euthanized to end its suffering.

It is sad that this ended badly. A one point it looked like the whale might make it. What isn't clear is how it ended up in the river so far from the ocean.
It must have been so terribly lost. The poor whale never made it back to the ocean and its fellow whales.
