Yet again the Faroe Islands have turned their waters to blood during a barbaric whale slaughter. Pods of whales are driven to shore where men with hooks, knives and spears wait to kill them.  They claim the whale meat is eaten, but we already know the meat is not safe to eat.

In past years protesters have tried to stop the killing y directly interfering with their boats, but legislation has outlawed that. Now drones capture the event on camera and the videos are published. This year the Sea Shepherd drone was shot at by one of the hunters, but it managed to bring back its videos.
The hunt was a brutal this year as any other year.

It is a brutal and barbaric event and even if it is "cultural"  it is not something that should be continued. We need to evaluate some of our "practices" and determine if they belong in the 21st century. People with knives standing in the water butchering helpless whales definitely needs to be left in the past. So do a great many other human activities. This one should be easy to stop. Just don't do it any more. Stop killing whales.
