Last week, a condo tower on the Florida shore collapsed suddenly during the night. Many people did not get out and neither did their pets. Everyone was sleeping. There has been a desperate search for survivors, but so far only bodies have been found. The rescuers are also searching for pets. A cat was seen on the balcony of the intact part of the building and efforts are being made to rescue it.
Rescuers are really trying to find pets, but sadly the remaining part of the tower must be brought down before a major storm makes landfall.

This whole thing is a terrible tragedy. Many lives have been lost. It is a small thing when compared to the whole incident, but finding and rescuing even one cat
will make make people feel better. I understand that there were birds in cages in some units. They would have been trapped as the building came down.
It is sad to think of how many animals were probably lost. I hope they can rescue even that one cat.
