A new rescue group, A Better Spot Foundation, has concentrated on rescuing dogs from Yulin. The founder got involved when his own dog died of cancer a few years ago. He visited Yulin and saw what was being done to dogs there. He was horrified. This year he brought eight dogs from Yulin to Toronto. They were directly rescued from the dog meat market. Two have already been adopted.

The dogs are beautiful and they certainly deserve the better life they will have in Toronto. Now we just have to keep pushing to stop the festival and save the rest of the dogs. Some day it will happen. Sadly not soo enough for some dogs.
At least eight dogs are going to live out their lives with people who will cherish them.
