In order to make people feel less anxious about being vaccinated, Nova the therapy dog visited a clinic and greeted people. Her presence made people feel better.
Some people have a real fear of needles. A warm fuzzy dog can do a lot to help people with their fears.

I didn't get to hug a dog when I got vaccinated. I didn't get any free ice-cream either.  My job got me the vaccine earlier so I got up and did a happy dance.
I think we would  all have preferred a Therapy Dog. I am glad the dogs are able to help people now. For some people it must be very stressful.
Dogs are amazing. They help us with everything and they ask so little in return.
Kind dogs always -without exception -make life so much nicer and can help our fears to disappear. What a pity you didn't get to cuddle a dog! And a pity they didn't give you a free ice cream, Catherine! You deserved one or both.

I didn't get any of the fun stuff because I was vaccinated in the early stages. We were all pretty serious about it back then.
I did buy my own ice-cream on the way home from my second dose.  I am glad other people are having a good experience.
They need it to help them cope with their fears.  I wasn't afraid. I was just so glad to get protection so early.
I wouldn't turn down a snuggle from a dog right now.
