The area around Fukushima was evacuated of all human life at the time of the accident. Since then nature has been left alone and it has thrived.
There is a lot of biodiversity. There are native species that are thriving again. There are invasive species that are definitely taking over. In particular, wild boars have established themselves.  Even if humans wanted to return, it might not be so easy. The wild boars are not going to walk away from an area they feel is their territory.

Chernobyl and Fukushima are now both thriving wildlife areas. Yes they are both sites of nuclear accidents. The real thing they have in common is their lack of human life.  Nature is thriving in spite of the radiation, because of the lack of humans.
I hope like Chernobyl, Fukushima is allowed to continue as as a wildlife sanctuary.

Something to think about, without us, natures thrives.
