November is National Pet Diabetes Month. I am a little late in learning this, but better late than never.
Diabetes is a serious condition in humans and it is no less serious in pets. It is good to know the signs and symptoms and if there is any doubt, it would be good to have the pet tested. There is no cure, but once detected it can be managed and treated successfully.

I have known a number of diabetic cats over the years. With careful feeding and insulin they have lived good long lives in relatively good health.
Most cats are fine with the treatment and quite cooperative.
I understand that dogs do just as well. I have never met a diabetic dog, but I know they respond to treatment as well as a cat.
It is good to be aware of the problem and watch for symptoms. The earlier a pet is treated the better. If we can't cure Diabetes, we can at least manage it.
