Florida Urgent Rescue or FUR as they are called has come to the rescue of animals in the areas hit hardest by tornados. The local shelters were already full of animals. After the disaster many animals have been brought in as strays or surrendered by owners who have lost their homes. The local shelters do not have the resources to do this. FUR comes in and transports animals to shelters elsewhere that can take them. The first group of Kentucky animals have now been transported to Michigan. FUR will be transporting more as needed.

This is such a good solution. There are shelters all around the effected areas that can help. They just need someone to bring the animals to them.
