Bristol Zoo has closed its doors permanently. Now they have the daunting task of moving 25,000 animals.
For some it is easy. They are easily crated, and they will be fine at their new location.
Moving and entire gorilla troupe however is not so easy. They have a silverback male, a number of females and some young gorillas.
They all need to cooperate with going into a crate and being sedated for the trip. They need to wake up together in the new location.
The big tortoises each need to travel in a specially fitted crate, custom made so they can't hurt themselves.

I don't know how anyone could organize a move like this. They must plan it, one species at a time until everyone is taken care of.
I wish them the best with this. I hope the keep us all posted.
