Halloween is not traditionally seen as an animal holiday. However, tonight in my neighbourhood of Toronto many people took their dogs out for a walk so they could see all the children. There were lots of happy children in funny costumes running along the sidewalks. The dogs I saw were actually having fun seeing so many happy children. Toronto spent 177 days in a declared state of emergency, much of it under lockdown and a stay-at-home order. It was hard on the people, and it was hard on the dogs. Now finally they are out meeting people and the people they meet are happy.

So just this once, Halloween was for the dogs too.

I didn't see any of the dogs in costumes, but it seems the city was full of them.

It was a good Halloween.
What do you bet that the Christmas decorations start appearing tomorrow.
