There are a small number of white moose in Timmins, Ontario. They are known as spirit moose. It is illegal to hunt them and now there is a campaign to tell people not to hunt them.
It is part of a larger campaign to protect the forest from unnecessary spraying. Everyone is harmed by the use of pesticides. Moose are affected because they eat the plants that have been sprayed.

Stopping the spraying and stopping the killing of white moose are steps in a healthy direction for managing the land.
The white moose are rare. Killing even one reduces the chances of there ever being more.
