There has been a beagle rescue going on after Envigo Medical Breeding Facility gave up its dogs because of animal cruelty violations. They gave up about 4000 beagles.
Various groups have been involved in the rescue process. This article is an update and a description of some of the rescues taking place.

It is amazing that the dogs were released for rescue. Even more amazing is the groups that scrambled to take part in the rescue. Each one did as much as they could. Eventually every single beagle will be in a forever home. They will learn how to be dogs and have good lives.
They really should make a movie about this.
