A wolf in Germany mated with a domestic dog and produced puppies.
The authorities are concerned about the genetics of the wolf population. They intend to hunt the pups down and kill them.

I can understand the concern for keeping the wolf genetics free of domestic dog genes. That is important for the well being of the wolf population in the long term.
However, if the puppies are sterilized that prevents them from interbreeding with wolves and passing on their genes. It is not necessary to kill them to prevent breeding. I don't know if they can be tamed, but they should at least give them a chance. They didn't ask to be born as hybrids. That is the fault of the male dog owners who let their dog meet up with a wolf.  Yes their presence is a problem, but killing is not always the answer.
