My Pickles is a 90 year old Radiated Tortoise, who lives at the Houston Zoo.
He surprised everyone by becoming a father for the first time. Mrs Pickles, a 53 year old tortoise laid eggs and hatched out 3 little baby tortoises.
The babies have been named Dill, Gherkin and Jalapeno. The little pickles will be cared for behind the scenes until they are big enough to join their parents in public.

Mr Pickles has been at the zoo for 36 years. Mrs Pickles has been with him most of that time.
They have only just now produced eggs. No wonder they are endangered in the wild.
They are the cutest little reptiles. Dare we hope that Mr Pickles will have more children in the future.
