We all know that animals hide during the heat of the day. They have other methods of beating the heat.

It seems that animals have a number of ways of beating the heat. My favourite is splooting. Who thought that word up? Oddly it describes what the animal is doing. They flatten themselves out on a cooler surface and lose body heat that way. When you look at an animal flattened out like that the word sploot does come to mind. It is like splat, but much cuter.
The other methods involve using evaporating body fluids to cool off. Animals are clever. They find ways to adapt and survive.
Sadly they are going to need all these skills and more if global warming continues and gets worse.
