In these tough economic times people are struggling to be able to care for their pets. The Toronto Humane Society is doing the best it can to help people, but the demand is too great. They have a foster program to look after people's pets temporarily and there is a pet food bank. It isn't enough and the shelter doesn't have enough resources. They are asking the publics help to get through this tough time.

It is tough for everybody. Pet food prices are very high. Rents are very high. It is hard for people to keep up.
Those of us with resources are giving what we can. Hopefully the shelters who are helping pet owners in need, will get the help they need to keep helping.
