On Dec 15 a woman with a guide dog  went out to dinner with her husband, sister, brother-in-law and her guide dog, Hudson.
The restaurant staff refused to let her bring the dog in. They would not even look at her registration card.
Someone who claimed it was his restaurant said no to the dog.
The woman has since filed a complaint with the Human Rights Commission.
She does want this to be a learning experience for everyone.

When the restaurant apologized, it claimed the incident was unintentional.

Really, they are still turning guide dogs away. How is it that anyone doesn't know about guide dogs.
This battle has been fought over and over again. Why is it still happening.

Also, the restaurant says the incident was unintentional.

Since they deliberately turned the dog away, how was the incident unintentional?
What will it take for people to respect guide dogs?
'Absolutely not, this is my restaurant, I'm not having any dog in my restaurant'.

Tamarind Restaurant said it "deeply regrets" that the party was turned away, calling it "unintentional."

These two sentences are inconsistent. The first sentence with the words "my restaurant" clearly indicates that the owner refused entry. The refusal was therefore not unintentional.

Even if the owner was Muslim (many Muslims, but not all, regard dogs as unclean), he cannot refuse entry to a legally registered guide dog. The law is quite clear on this.
The law is very clear that guide dogs are allowed. I don't know how they are getting away with refusing dogs. They apologize later, but the damage is already done.
How are his staff not trained about this.
I sit through a training video every year and sign that I have seen it. I think the government puts out a free presentation that he could have his staff watch.

I think a group of people with guide dogs should show up and insist on entering the restaurant.
