They have been studying the teeth of the Komodo Dragon at Toronto Zoo. Komodo Dragons replace their teeth frequently. If one breaks off it can be replaced by a new one very quickly.
Kilat hatched at Toronto Zoo twenty years ago. They have been collecting his teeth so they can be studied. The teeth resemble those of an adult theropod
dinosaur. This opens up interesting possibilities for understanding dinosaur teeth.

Kilat is an amazing Komodo Dragon. I remember when his mother laid eggs and we had to wait 9 months for them to hatch. I remember when they finally put him on display as a baby. He was beautiful and a pretty good size. He had a real dragon attitude even then. Now he is a big powerful lizard and still beautiful.
It is good to know that he is able to contribute to research through his teeth.
