Elephants in Bangladesh now have court protection. Up until now, baby elephants could be taken from their mothers to be used for the logging industry.
Many of the babies taken ended up being exploited for entertainment and even begging.
There are only 200 Asian elephants left in Bangladesh and half of them are captive.
The People for Animal Welfare Foundation in Bangladesh is hoping these captives can be rehabilitated.

This is epic as far as the elephants are concerned. Those that are still wild can live out their lives in peace with out the danger of their children being stolen.
It may not be possible to return captives to the wild, but they could at least live better lives. They could be free from mistreatment and exploitation.
