Something I noticed about the dogs and their owners is the warmth and affection between them and once the dog decides to wake you up, you are up.Smiley4

Dogs don't give up do they.Smiley4
Haha! I like the one who was working out the engineering of how to push the guy out of bed! He was doing quite well!
And the Akita wasn't taking any prisoners!
The sweetest one was the little puppy licking ears and neck.

I was very lucky with Misty. We shared a bed, and she was very very good, more or less always taking her cue from me. Times when she didn't weren't so hard to take. She would wag, then slip out of bed, shake, walk across the wooden floor and then yawn with a hint of a squeak before making her way downstairs. She always knew that would wake me up!
But she had a habit of getting out of bed in the middle of the night for no apparent reason, coming up the bed, shaking herself out then getting back in again. In a complete trance I would lift up the covers for her and we settled back down for more shut-eye. It worked well.
Maybe Misty was sleep walking when she got up during the night.Smiley4 You two were so close she knew when to wake you and when to let you sleep. It is special when you are that close to your pet.

The dogs all seemed to know what would get their owners up. The determination is funny. Once the dog wants you up, you may as well get up.

When I had cats, I would get up and they would look at me like I was crazy and then they would go back to sleep.Smiley4
My vote is with the cats on that one! LOL!
Never get up unless you absolutely have to! haha
