Hi all

My dog needs medical tretments and I'm running out of money.
Forum Policy does not allow direct fundraising in members posts. I have removed the link, but I have posted the information from the fundraising web site. Any member who wants to donate is free to do so. You can contact Becas's owner through our Private Message system and ask for the link to the fundraising site.

We regret having to do it this way, but we would be inundated with requests for money, many of which would not be valid.

If you want and can, please help us.
God bless you all.

Hi all
My name is Becas and I'm hoping you can help my owner because she's running out of money for my recovery.
I'm a 12 years old no breed lady dog. Last November 2013 I suffered a fall in my apartment stairs that caused me a cruciate ligament injury in my knee.
After all exams my Vet proposed my owner a surgery for replacing my ligament. The recovery was a mess since my body rejected the new ligament. My Vet proposed my owner a new surgery for removing the ligament but only after six months for giving time to my body to do some fibrosis around the new ligament that would do the work of the ligament. So I passed that months in pain and in antibiotic for the infection because I had an always open wound (because of the rejection of the ligament). So last May I went under new surgery for removing the new ligament and all went well.
Here I am when I came back home after that second surgery.

All this time since November, I didn't walk because of the pain. So now I need phisiotherapy, and hydrotherapy but my owner is out of money.
So I'm asking for your help, even small it will make the difference.
Thank you all
I wish you all the best with your dog and I hope she has a speedy recovery.
Thank you Catherine

If you want to help you can PM because I can't post here the link to gofundme.
Thanks
Please tell us more about your dog and how he is doing. We all want to know.
Becas is a beautiful girl. I hope you will be successful with the fundraising for her, and that she will gradually start to improve.

Swimming therapy is very useful for building strength in muscles and ligaments and is very gentle, as the water supports their weight. If you have access to clean safe water -it only needs to be deep enough for her to be able to swim in -and you could go in with her to help support and guide her through the water.
Many dogs think this is fun too!

Poor Becas. Blessings to her, and good luck with the fund raising for her treatment.

I sent you a Private message, so please check your inbox.
Thank you Tobi

I replyed to you by PM.

Tomorrow Becas will have her second physiotherapy session at home so I'm hopping that this will help her to start putting in four legs, so she can walk the stairs again and then she can go outside and have some hydrotherapy.

Thanks again for your kindeness
Ana
Hello amp,
I am sorry but there has been a delay concerning my donation. However I would still very much like to give to Becas' cause when the delay is sorted out.

Is the physiotherapy and hydrotherapy Becas needs provided by a local vet, and is the vet in Lisbon by any chance, or a provincial town? Some vets do provide alternative ways of healing too, such as acupuncture etc.

I hope she is doing ok. She is a lovely dog.
We live in Lisbon.
Our Physioterapist has told us about acupunture with another therapist. We would like to try that too but we will see how much wil it cost.
Thanks for all your advices.
Dear amp,
I would very much like to give a little to help Becas recover. But would it be possible to make a donation directly to the veterinarian, or to the physiotherapy/hydrotherapy center where Becas is being treated?
Hi Tobi

I understand your concerns.

My dog vet FB is this. Her vet name is Ana Guerra. This is where she was under two surgeries. We have no debt in here.
The hydrotherapy she didn't started yet, because she is not capable to go down the stairs of our apartment. So we have not decided here she is going to do it.
The physioterapist comes at our home.[attachment=73] Here it is her FB.
We would prefer that your contribution come to us directly, but if you decide to give it to Francisca (the physioterapist), please PM me telling me the amount of your donation, so we can know.
Thanks again
