Back then he would have fit in. There were many large amazing animals back then. It is too bad they didn't survive. The oceans would be more incredible with a turtle that size.

Elasmosaurus is one of the long-necked plesiosaurs. It's neck was more than half of its total body length. Elasmosaurus was over 10.3 m (34 ft) long.

Fossils have been found in North America.

WOW!!
That is an awesome looking creature.
I wonder what colour it really was. I wonder what it ate. It is big, but with such a thin neck it couldn't swallow anything big.

Cameroceras was one of the earliest apex predator on Earth. The shell of this giant orthocone measured about 6 m (20 ft) in length or more, which makes it the biggest carnivore of its time.

Fossils have been found in United States of America, Canada, China, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom.

Basilosaurus was an ancient predatory whale which was very different from any modern whale. Although it may had a tail like that of a modern whale, it's body was long, slender and rather more snake-like. Basilosaurus measured about 15 - 21 m (50 - 70 ft) in length.

Fossils of have been found in North Africa (Egypt, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia) and Southeastern United States (Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee).

All I could think of when I looked at it was a giant carrot. It looks like a giant carrot with eyes. It may have been an apex predator, but
it resembles a giant vegetable. I am sure it was a serious predator, but first impressions are hard to shake. I started to type the words serious vegetable in stead of serious predator. I am sure in person, even in the fossil form the Cameroceras was impressive.


The Basilosaurus is interesting. The head makes me think of a dolphin. I expect to see a dolphin sized body, but instead it has a very large body. You are right, it is long and snake like. It would have been hard for such a small head to feed such a large body.

It looks silly to us, but I bet in real life it was a terrifying predator.  Never judge a predator by its appearance.

Parapuzosia is the largest ammonite ever existed and it is one of the largest invertebrates. It's gigantic shell had a diameter of 2.55 - 3.5 m (8.4 - 11 ft).The largest species of parapuzosia weighed upto 1.4 tonnes. 

Fossils have been found in Africa, Europe, and North America.

Wow, that is beautiful. I had no idea that ammonites could be that big. I have only seen smaller species. 
I had a beautiful piece of an ammonite fossil when I was a kid.  Even the whole fossil would not have come close to that size.  
I would love to see a fossil of Parapuzosia.

I didn't know one of them could get that big either until i saw a picture. There are some smaller ones with nice luminous colors i saw in some pictures, of course these should be made by humans.

Megalochelys was a giant tortoise that grew to the size of a small car. The length of it's shell is more than 2.1 m (6.9 ft) long. Megalochelys was 2.5 to 2.7 m (8.2 to 8.9 ft) long or more and weighed over 1 tonne, which makes it the largest tortoise that has ever existed.

Fossils have been found in Asia (India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Myanmar).
