RE: Amazing 3D art - cathie - 11-03-2015 He's an amazing artist..... RE: Amazing 3D art - Catherine - 11-03-2015 I am having a glitch and I can't see the images. Hopefully by tomorrow things will be sorted out. I do want to see them. RE: Amazing 3D art - LPC - 11-03-2015 Incredible, Tobi! Do you know what the technique is (apart from good use of shadows)? RE: Amazing 3D art - Tobi - 11-04-2015 It's known as the "Trompe l'oeil" technique. That is French for -I believe -"trick the eye". Yes it involves careful addition of shadows, but also a clever use of perspective. There's a bit of info. about that painting style here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trompe-l'%C5%93il [Apologies for the link not working at the moment. Our engineers are working on the website. Things should be back to normal as soon as possible.] For anyone interested, google "Trompe l'oeil" and there will be some sites with info about that style. I must say it is one of the most exciting painting styles I have seen. Many street artists use this style, and their work is always a joy to behold! It takes a good grounding in basic artwork skills to pull it off though. RE: Amazing 3D art - Catherine - 11-04-2015 I went old school and I copied the address and Google took me right to it. Links are convenient, but there are other ways. What amazing pictures. You are right, the snake is awesome. I think it is a harmless milk snake or maybe a king snake, also harmless. It is hard to believe it is a picture and not real. It is more real looking than a photograph. My eyes are certainly fooled. |
