Animals are not Freight...day of Action - Catherine - 08-28-2016

The Animal Justice group is sponsoring a day of action on Monday to declare that animals are not freight and should not be treated as such.

The email I got linked this to the Anita case where a woman is being charged for giving water to pigs in transit to slaughter.
We have a separate thread on that subject. I felt this event needs its own thread.

Animals transported to slaughter under inhumane conditions is a global issue. If you look at the map and the statistics this is an enormous amount of animal cruelty that is legal and as the Anita case shows us, is actively protected by the law.

If you can protest do it. If you can find a petition sign it. Tell people why this cruelty is wrong and why it must stop.

I am putting this link in here for now.

If veganism actually becomes a human right in Ontario, I will post about it and we can celebrate a victory.

The protests went ahead and hopefully people were reached by the message.

Canada has terrible animal transport laws. I hope all the publicity helps change the laws. I would like to see some of the law makers and "meat industry" people transported the way they let animals be transported. They would be calling for changes soon enough.
