Vet sent to euthanise pets saves them instead - Tobi - 12-29-2016

A vet in Houston Texas received a call to go out to four pets who had been locked in a house for four weeks after their caretaker passed away. They were to be euthanised.
Yet what she found was hope....and she took the animals home with her instead!

This is a story of a 'hero vet', bless her. But it's also a warning to any seniors who have pets to make some arrangement for them in case of emergencies.

What an angel Dr. Christine is and what a wonderful idea Last Wishes is.   I am so glad she took them home. She will never regret that for the rest of her life.

I suppose it is hard for families to know what to do with a seniors pets. Maybe they should have the discussion while the senior can still express their wishes. Also someone could be found who would take the pets when the time comes. The pets could even meet this person.

I came across a very good article about providing for a pet that out lives you.  I think we will need to do a separate thread on the subject, but I will post the this article.

We grieve when our pets pass before we do, but it is worse to think that they will out  live us and no one else will really care for them.
